I was trying to find out if a comet observed in 4bc and 1006 ad
was a cyclic event of about 1000 years.
Looking into history in the period of 1000 bc/ bce
one finds that it was an era of the ebb tide of both the Egyptian and
Bablonian -Asyrian civilizations! About the time of Assur-dan in Asyrian
terms and
Marduk-ezer in Babylonian terms and 21st dynasty ( Tanus/ Thebes).
Not much in the way of records get down to us today. Certainly not
observations of comets.
Many such observations were a omens in astrology terms...
I haven't investigated the Indus or Chinese civilizations of this period.
