New Age. Belongs with all the other religious-based
works.

Why do they call it New Age? It should be New Dark Age - because
that's seems to be what is happening when one abandons the provable
for conjecture and superstition. Recently attended a lecture by Zahi
Hawass and sure enough one of the questions from the audience was
whether the pyramids were a giant power generator of some sort. He
made short shrift of the questioner.....

Well, Hawass has himself come out with a few whoppers
in his time...

I have no issue with people choosing to believe anything
they want. But, I have a real problem when they want
their beliefs treated as -- and included in -- genuine history,
biology and archaeology.

Religions are refered to as "A faith" for a reason!

And, believe me, there are things a heck of a lot worse
than a New Ager asking a question at a lecture on
Egyptology. Like what? Like people insisting on including
their beliefs when teaching Egyptology!

And I can't tell you how sick I am of being accused of
an "anti-Christian" bias every time I scoff at somebody's
pet theory on Moses and the Exodus.

Whether it's crystals or a cross, give it a rest!

interested in ancient egypt, and eventually getting there too

i haven't read his "fingerprint of the gods", is that somehting you all
might suggest?

Hardly. Hancock is anything but a scientific writer.

I suggest that everyone follow in your footsteps, and
not read it as well.

The man who will not read might as well be unable to read.
