Does anyone know where I could find a high-quality senet board/box?
Something substantial, nicely made, or ever antique? Looking for a
nice gift for a friend that would appreciate it!

Any help would be appreciated... else it is some flimsy repro or I'm
resigned to making it myself. Thanks!

There's quite a number of sources for the wooden (and best made)
version of the Senet games.

Try:

which refers to

There's also these sources for the wooden version of Senet:

There's also a downloadable software version, with purchase of the
software:

You can also find Timothy Kimball's famous 1978 version of the game on
an elaborate cardboard game board at

There are a number of rules and meaning to the game of Senet, as the
ancient Egyptians had more than one way to play this game. If your
friend is so inclined, he/she may also wish to purchase Peter
Piccione's book on Senet, called _Senet, Gaming With the Gods_, which
should be published shortly (2007). Be aware this is a very scholarly
review of the game, as it formed the basis of Piccione's PhD.
dissertation, as I recall. See, on Piccione's research projects on
ancient Egyptian games, <http://www.cofc.edu/~piccione/>

I hope this assists.
